Happy, lovable, and cute, Cockapoos are one of the most popular designer breeds – and for good reason: they’re absolutely excellent pets.
Was there ever a dog that was harder to say no to? Sometimes called Cockapoodle, or Cock-a-Poo, this Poodle/Cocker Spaniel mix is a totally endearing little dog with a face that could melt a heart of stone.

1.Cockapoos Make Fantastic Companion Dogs
Cockapoos are very people-oriented, and thrive on attention and surrounded with their family. They’re very adaptive and like meeting new people, young or old.
These qualities make cockapoos excellent as companion or therapy dogs. They are trained to bring comfort and affection to the sick, disabled, or elderly, and sometimes are even trained as hearing dogs for the deaf!
2. They’re Hypoallergenic
While no dog is 100% hypoallergenic, Cockapoos shed very little dander and hair, making them the perfect pet for people with allergies.
3. They’re Cute!
Cockapoos are are also known for their “cuteness-factor” and luxurious fur!
I mean, just look at that handsome fellow!😍 With their large bright eyes, and adorable teddy-bear appearance, I think we can all agree Cockapoos are exceptionally photogenic!
4. They’re Exceptionally Clever & Love to Learn
It’s a fact! Cockapoos are highly intelligent, and easy to train. They inherit the poodle’s quick wit and tend to be little tricksters.
Cockapoos also inherit hunting and working dog traits from both sides of the pedigree, so they need a lots of activity to keep from being bored.
These dogs love to show off their tricks, and they live for more complicated routines. You’ll get a lot more out of a Cockapoo than sit, down, and stay!
5. Cockapoos Are Known For Their Affectionate Nature
You can’t be sad for long around these happy animals! The Cockapoo is probably best known for its affectionate nature, so don’t be surprised if their enthusiasm rubs off on you! If you give them the attention and love they need, they’ll love you forever.
6. They’re Healthier Than Their Purebred Counterparts

“The cockapoo is often healthier than either a poodle or a cocker spaniel simply because it does not have any of the genetic defects typically found in either breed.”
Known as “Hybrid Vigor”, Cockapoos inherit the best of both worlds when it comes to strong genetics. With proper nutrition and exercise, your Cockapoo will be strong and healthy for many years to come!
7. Cockapoos Are Long-Lived
The cockapoo has a life span of 14-16 years. A healthy cockapoo may live for 18 years too!
8. They’re Good With Children
Have we already mentioned that Cockapoos are affectionate people-dogs?! With their happy personality and sweet demeanor, they are perfect playmates for children.
9. They Don’t Smell
That’s right! As dogs go, Cockapoos are pretty odorless. If you keep him cleaned and brushed regularly, you should have none of that doggy odor in and around your home!
10. Cockapoos Come In Many Colors
One more fact about these beautiful dogs – their luxurious fur comes in a variety of colors, the most common ones being:
- black
- golden
- brown
- red
- cream
- A combination of two or more of these colors
Their coat texture ranges anywhere from tight curls, to loose waves, and all variations are exceptionally soft to the touch.

We watched someone dump out a cockerpoo and we got him .we named him boomer we bathed him and feed him and we noticed he’s very skinny could there be a legit reason he doesn’t have worms .we think the people who dumped him starved the little fellow .were taking him to the vet just curious if you have any idea what could be the issue.hes so loveable and sweet natured I just love him so much .

If he doesn’t have parasites or other obvious ailments, then it’s probably just a matter of making sure he has all the nutritious food he can eat. 🙂 It can take a month or more to get him back to a healthy weight.
